Heathfield House is a charming country house set in the rolling hills of the Scottish Borders. The house is designed in a traditional vernacular style and was built in two phases. The first phase comprised the complete rebuilding of a derelict shepherd’s cottage, to provide an open plan living/dining/kitchen space plus a sunroom, office, and three bedrooms. The second phase was for a new wing, creating a new entrance hall, an additional public room, two additional bedrooms, and a double-height artist’s studio. An attractive garden setting has been created around the house, with the sunroom and the new wing looking out over a large pond. The first phase of works was completed in 2000, the second phase in 2010.
